Born and raised on the south side of Chicago Tasia Sherel never intended to pursue a career in entertainment, but fate and raw talent intervened. As an only child, Sherel had dreams of becoming a hairstylist and make up artist. However, she found herself at a local community college earning her degree in cosmetology. Little did she know that this degree would come back to help her out years later. While working toward her degree, Sherel took a job at a Hair Care Company in the Tradeshow Dept as an assistant. One day, they asked her to fill in for a no-show model and after that, she kept booking jobs and realized she enjoyed the work. She then won the prestigious title of Miss Mahogany Chicago and went on to place in the Top 10 of a national pageant. Her biggest break, however, came at the Maybelline Modeling Competition, hosted by the national make-up company of the same name. After winning the competition, she was approached and represented by agent Dee Simmons, who told her she had too much personality to stick with modeling. She decided to take Simmons advice and began her acting career in New York. Sherel was booked on her first job for a technical training video. She then decided to take the next step in her career and moved to Los Angeles. Shortly after arriving on the west coast, Sherel began her own theater company Embodi Entertainment, LA's first exclusively African American, female theatre company. In addition to Founding the prestigious company, she also acts as producer and creative director. Sherel also teaches acting, gives motivational speeches around the Los Angeles area, produces, directs, and does some work as a casting director. Sherel can be seen in the highlyanticipated feature film Days of Wrath as "Lady Dee" in spring 2008; starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Wilmer Valderrama, and Laurence Fishbourne. She as also appeared on Let's Talk (B.E.T's 2nd Annual Rap-It-Up Short Script Winner), Dexter, What About Brian, Hallmark's (MOW) A Strangers Heart, Strong Medicine, CSI: Miami, Days of Our Lives, Inde Film Love Relations, and the Mary J. Blige video "It's A Wrap." Her break out acting role came in late 2005 with a guest-starring role as Pam, the hairdresser, on the hit CW show, Everybody Hates Chris.
